Chuck Tomlins from University of
Tulsa and Tommy Mew’s art show “Atmospheres” opens Monday (Feb. 17) in the
Berry College Moon Gallery with a gallery talk at 7 p.m.
show is free and open to the public.
received his master’s degree for the Ohio State University and bachelor’s from
Oklahoma State University. He has been teaching at the University of Tulsa
since 1966 and specializes in sculpture/performance art, computer graphics,
drawing, art criticism and metallurgical engineering.

examination. It is a conduit to connect me with the Natural Magic held within
all things. I seek the path of the Artist-Shaman. I reflect…
manipulate…construct…conjure…position the “tools” and await the Magic. I
believe,” said Tomlins.
received his doctorate from New York University and was a College Emeritus
Professor of Art at Berry; he also has been named an honorary alumnus. He
taught art and served as the director of the Moon Gallery for 40 years before
retiring in 2010. Mew says he incorporates his 5-year-old granddaughter Eden’s
drawings which have been featured in the United States, Germany, Italy, Poland,
Australia, France, Switzerland, Canada and the Netherlands.
