Berry College welcomes the works of sculptor McArthur Freeman
beginning Jan. 13 in the Moon Gallery.
exhibit will be open from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. through Feb. 7 and Freeman will give
a gallery talk at 7 p.m. Jan. 13. Freeman is an assistant professor of art at
the University of South Florida, Tampa and teaches animation and digital
modeling. He creates works that explore race, double consciousness, and the
construction of identity. His work has been published in Nka Journal of
Contemporary African Art and has been exhibited in several group and solo shows
within the United States.
received his bachelor of fine arts from the University of Florida, a master of
fine arts from Cornell University with concentration in drawing and painting
and a master of art and design from North Carolina State University in
animation, new media, and digital imaging.
