Berry's Vegas Weekend always serves as a fun reminder that not only do Berry students work hard; they also know how to have a good time. Events offered during this particular weekend were inspired by various shows, locations, and casinos found on the Vegas strip. Arielle Debrun, a senior from Charlotte, N.C., was impressed with this year's weekend-long bash. Krannert Center Activities Board (KCAB) organizes the event.
"I've been coming to KCAB's Vegas Weekend since my freshman year, and this was easily my favorite one. Every event that KCAB puts on is even better than the last!" she said.
The festivities kicked off Friday with the Black Light Dance. Students flooded the ballroom and danced the night away decked out in their finest white and neon apparel. The following evening, the ballroom was converted into a swanky casino, complete with casino games such as craps, roulette, and blackjack. In lieu of money, students won tickets that were used to enter various raffles to win gift cards to popular local eateries and hot spots.
Students were also treated to a performance by Six Appeal, a vocal ensemble and comedy act out of Minneapolis. The group performed crowd favorites such as "The Circle of Life" as well as original material. Six Appeal is the 2012 National Champions of the Harmony Sweepstakes A Cappella Festival - the premier American showcase for vocal harmony music.Article by Student Public Relations Assistant Hayden Sloan and photos by Student Photographers Lauren Neumann and Blake Childers
