Though the weather outside has been frightful…ly warm, Berry hasn't let nature or finals keep away the holiday cheer.
The festivities began when the lights were lit at the Oak Hill & Martha Berry Museum on Nov. 29 for Candles and Carols. Students left their books and wandered along the illuminated drive to see Martha Berry's house decked out in garland, listen to the carolers, and visit Santa Claus.
Later in the week, students, faculty and the community turned out for the annual Lessons and Carols in the Berry College Chapel to enjoy the music of the season presented by the Berry College Concert Choir and Berry Singers.
Not to be outdone by the lights and songs, Berry College Theatre Company presented "Uh Oh, Her Comes Christmas," a charming and funny look at Christmas craziness. In the spirit of the season, the play was free with any donation for St. Jude Children's Hospital and they raised $2,500!
One thing's true: Whether it's cold outside or not, Berry's holiday traditions keep the spirit warm and bright.Article by Student Public Relations Assistant Alyssa Hollingsworth and student photographers Blake Childers, Sarah Garrett and Mary Claire Stewart.
