Available Software for Students
Microsoft Office
Office software CD is free to students, faculty, and staff. You can either come to the Technical Support Desk in Hermann Hall 126 and fill out the form or fill it out on-line. There are two ways that students will receive their software: 1) an e-mail will be sent notifying the student that they can come by the Help Desk to pick their software up at which time they will be asked to present their Berry ID or 2) incoming students that request their software prior to Viking Venture will receive their software during their scheduled session. Faculty and staff will receive an email once their CD is ready to be picked up at the Help Desk. The student will need to present their Berry ID card to receive the CD. Antivirus Software
Antivirus software is required for all student computers on campus, with the exception of those running Linux. Berry College has contracted with McAfee for their corporate antivirus software for Wintel processors used by all students, faculty and staff attached to the Berry network. Macintosh users will use the Symantec client for Macs. The current antivirus system easily enables all users to install Berry’s licensed McAfee antivirus software and to obtain definition updates in a timely manner. Having Windows XP Professional is no longer a requirement, but it is recommended.
We have implemented a three step process that should take no longer than 30 minutes to complete. The three steps are:
- Remove all antivirus software from your computer.
- Install the current Berry supported antivirus software.
- Register your computer or game console on the Berry College Network.
