Memorial Library provides campus-wide subscription service and access for a number of major on-line research resources in support of the Berry College curriculum.
GALILEO, the GeorgiA LIbrary LEarning Online system, provides convenient access to:
- the catalogs of other public and academic libraries in Georgia
- a collection of over 60 databases, including full-text resources
- convenient access to the Digital Library of Georgia
Remote [off-campus] access to GALILEO databases requires a password. Current password information for Berry College is available from your course instructors, or at the public services desks in Memorial Library upon presentation of a valid Berry College I.D.
Dialog
Memorial Library maintains a subscription to the Dialog service in order to offer mediated (librarian-conducted) searches for all Dialog databases not available to Berry's end-users via other avenues. These include Science Citation Index (SciSearch), Social Sciences Citation Index (Social SciSearch), and selected other specialized reference tools. STN Databases
STN (Scientific and Technical Information Network) is a full-featured, online information system of databases covering a wide range of scientific and technical topics including biotechnology, business, chemistry, pharmacology, toxicology, and much more.
Chemical Abstracts Use of the CAS Academic Account for Chemical Abstracts is restricted to specific afternoon, evening, and weekend hours. Academic Program Hours Login/Password information for this program is available to faculty upon request, and to chemistry or other science majors upon recommendation of the instructor, or after completion of an instruction session with a faculty member or librarian. Other STN Databases Although the primary purpose of STN at Berry is to provide online access to the Chemical Abstracts service for faculty and upper level chemistry majors, other STN databases are also available via mediated (librarian-conducted) searches upon request.
