Environmental Sciences and Secondary School Teaching
Majors who are interested in teaching in secondary schools are
encouraged to earn a Comprehensive Science teaching certificate
in addition to a bachelor's degree. The teaching certificate, which
is earned by fulfilling requirements prescribed by the State of
Georgia, is generally accepted in most of the 50 states by reciprocal
agreement. In addition to completing the Environmental Sciences
major, the requirements for the Comprehensive Science teaching certificate
include psychology, physics, and several courses in education with
the last semester of the senior year devoted to the student-teaching
block.
