History Faculty
The Berry College History Department Faculty takes pride in its reputation as a community of scholars. Each historian actively engages in research in his or her chosen field, and department members have contributed several books and articles to the literature of their areas of specialization. All of the historians consider quality teaching of undergraduates to be their primary responsibility. Each teaches general-education surveys as well as upper division courses in their areas. The Department strives to maintain an enrollment of ten to fifteen students in advanced courses to encourage class discussions with their professors. Enrollment in surveys is capped at thirty students so that professors can devote maximum attention to their students progress. History faculty members also serve as an academic advisors, and they welcome individual meetings with students outside of class.
