Mary Niedrach has been a teacher for 25 years.
Her previous employers include Darlington Lower School , First
Presbyterian Preschool, and public schools in Macon , Jefferson
, and Rome . She is now in her eleventh year of teaching kindergarten
at Berry College Elementary School .
Mary received her BSEd (early childhood education) from the University
of Georgia in 1979. She received her MEd from Berry College in
1995. She graduated from Berry Academy in 1975. Mary has twice
traveled to Japan through grants from the Fullbright Committee
and the Japanese External Trade Association fro post-graduate studies
of the Japanese educational system.
Mary is a native of Rome , where she and her family still resides.
Mary is a communicant of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, a member
of the International Relations Committee of the City of Rome and
past president of the Junior Service League of Rome.
While at Berry College Elementary School , Mary has especially
enjoyed working with student teachers (having supervised over 20),
teaching Japanese students, conducting the annual kindergarten
wedding, and personally serving the tooth fairy. She plans to retire
in 2020.
