Cage Scholarships

Berry College’s most prestigious full-tuition scholarships are available to junior and senior students majoring in business or economics, thanks to Steven J. Cage, a 1974 graduate.

Jessie Hamilton, Marcy Peterson, Eli Sherrill and Victoria Watkins are this year’s recipients. These students were awarded the scholarships based on their academic standing, leadership qualities and involvement in community service.

A member of the Berry College Board of Trustees, Cage is the founder of Indianapolis-based Product Action International LLC.  In addition to the Cage Scholarships, he is a major benefactor for the Steven J. Cage Recreation and Athletic Center, currently under construction on the Berry campus.

The scholarships enable the Campbell School of Business to attract and retain outstanding students who are on track to make significant contributions to the business world upon graduation.

Jessie Hamilton is a junior accounting major and economics minor from Brunswick, Georgia.  After graduating from Berry, Jessie plans to attend graduate school and receive her Master of Accountancy and then become a Certified Public Accountant.

Marcy Peterson is a senior majoring in economics and French and is from Kwajalein, Marshall Islands.  She was president of Lambda Sigma, the sophomore honor society and served as a SOAR leader.  Marcy studied abroad in Paris her junior year, learning the language and gaining a global perspective through travel.  She is excited to be back at Berry to be a Freshman Mentor and serve on several SGA committees this year.

Eli Sherrill is a senior finance major from Grayson, Georgia.   At Berry, he serves on the Academic Council, the Judicial Board, and as Vice-President of Finance for Executive Round Table.  In addition to his studies, he enjoys playing piano and intramural sports.  After graduating from Berry College, he plans to go to graduate school to pursue a Ph.D. in Finance.  In Spring 2008, Eli was inducted into the Berry College Beta Gamma Sigma Chapter.  Membership in this honor society is the highest recognition business students anywhere in the world can receive in business programs accredited by AACSB.

Victoria Watkins is a junior double majoring in Accounting and Finance and minoring in Religion. She is from Marietta, GA.  Victoria is the secretary for BAA (Berry Accounting Association). She attended the Deloitte leadership conference during the summer and worked full time with the Berry Admissions office, which she is currently doing part-time as well as her studies and activities.
